Down is the lightest of all natural fillings. Down comes from the breast of a bird and has a unique ability to trap air, making it exceptionally light. Feather fillings which do contain quills, aren't as thermally efficient as down, therefore, to achieve the same level of warmth as down, a feather blend filling will weigh more than a down filling.
